This short trip to Munich led me to the exhibition titled "To Be Seen: Queer Lives" at the NS-DOKUMENTATIONSZENTRUM, which was incredibly powerful to experience. It’s devastating to realize how visible and vibrant the queer community was in the early 20th century — especially during the Weimar Republic — until the Nazis rose to power and violently erased that progressiveness and acceptance from society. The exhibition highlights personal stories, photographs, and historical documents that make this rupture painfully tangible.

We spent the night at the FLUSHING MEADOWS Hotel, located on Fraunhoferstraße near Gärtnerplatz — such a charming neighborhood. The hotel has only a few rooms, each individually designed by different creatives, which makes it feel very personal and curated. There’s also a rooftop bar that gets extremely busy on weekends. I loved the ’70s-inspired, dark yet cozy color palette — it felt intimate, moody, and slightly cinematic.
