Every year, the question of how — and with whom — I want to celebrate my birthday puts a lot of pressure on me. To escape that feeling, I usually leave town or even the country.

This year, we went to the Bavarian Alps and had birthday dinner at DAS ACHENTAL. They served us a fully vegan three-course meal, and every bite was delicious. The whole atmosphere felt both beautiful and cozy at the same time. It had snowed the night before, so when we looked out the window everything was covered in white. Except for the fact that I got a little sick, it was exactly the pefectly calm birthday celebration I had hoped for.
