We went to Karlsruhe over the weekend to meet family and friends, as well as to visit a side exhibition of ART KARLSRUHE at Alter Schlachthof. The event was called “Kunst Mitte” and featured local artists alongside galleries from all around Germany.

One artist especially stood out to me: Manuel Kolip, who runs GALERIE OH. He paints everyday architectural scenes from Karlsruhe — like graffiti on a house wall or small urban details. He captures impressions we all know but rarely notice, giving them a special perspective and inviting us to pause and really open up to their quiet beauty, translating them onto wooden canvases.

Afterwards, we had dinner at MOGOGO, a family-owned African restaurant serving Eritrean dishes. Every time I come to Karlsruhe, I have to go there — they make some of the best vegan plates and desserts.
